Garlic

Garlic

While most of our garden was devastated by bunnies this year, our garlic survived – and thrived. We planted it last September, covering it in old leaves, and it poked through early spring. We ate the scapes at the height of the summer and harvested the cloves in July. It may have been a little early, but the stalks were starting to turn brown and we were concerned about all the rain rotting them out. We hung them in our barn to dry and they came out beautifully. We ate a little bit, but saved the majority and replanted them last week – hopefully yielding a bounty next year.
